Ian Johnston wins translation prize
Ian Johnston wins NSW Premier's Translation Prize & PEN Medallion ($30,000)
Ian Johnston was awarded $30,000 and PEN Medallion as winner of the NSW Premier’s Translation Prize, announced on Monday 16 May 2011. Tasmania's Pardalote Press is the publisher of his books, Waiting for the Owl and Singing of Scented Grass.

Ivy Alvarez’s reading at the Republic Readings in Tasmania earlier this year was a knock-out. So, here’s a treat for her fans. Ivy Alvarez’s poem ‘Curing the animal’, which can be read here, published in Cordite Poetry Review, was included in Best Australian Poems 2009 (ed. Robert Adamson).
